Untitled (Sonnet on Rousseau)

Civilisation is a hopeless race
Because of the evils it makes us face
Corruption will always run wild
As the wealthy continue to stockpile

The creation of privatised land
Has now and forever ruined man

No person in the state of nature
Would feel this constant threat of danger
They would be peaceful, timid and mute
Not these corporate obsessed capitalist brutes

The noble savage may have been full of strife
But at least he had no concept of property rights

Institution should be built on compassion not competition
Instead we rely on these moronic politicians
They call on the social contract for protection of all
When they, of all, are most afraid to fall

Our blissful human nature, society has corrupted
Why? So that maybe we’d be more productive
